Now In: Replace a neon power supply

 

Instructions for replacing a neon power supply.

 

Tools needed:

Standard flat head screwdriver.

Time required:

Less than 5 min.

 

 

1) Set the sign on a table face down. Follow the 2 wires from the power supply through the plastic sign backing.

2) Turn the sign over. Trace the wires through the plastic to the ends of the neon tubes.

3) Slide the rubber cap off the end of the tube.

4) Untwist the wires using your fingers.

5) Slide both wires through the plastic.

6) Remove the bad power supply using a screwdriver.

7) Install the new power supply using a screwdriver.

8) Slide the 2 wires back through the sign.

9) Trim off any extra wire. Hook the wires up to the end of the tube. The wires MUST be twisted together a minimum of 5 times.

10) Bend the splice in half to keep the wires from pulling apart.

11) Slide the rubber cap back over the end of the tube.

12) Finished - Plug the sign in.
